About

Thebarton Enquirer was founded on a belief that Australian Football at the national level is broken. An iniquitous and incompetent administrator has white-washed the historical narrative to engineer a version of events that serve only them. The truth about football’s roots has been hidden for too long and it’s high time the Australian public knew the truth.

We seek to investigate claims made by the AFL, both explicit and implicit, and to produce thinkpieces about why things are the way they are and who that benefits.

If you love your footy, but tire of the AFL’s media circus, moronic commentators and constant cash-grabs, then this site is for you.

Exposing the Truth

The AFL has controlled the public narrative around Australian Football for too long. We see it as our role to make sure people know the truth about our game’s history.

A meticulously detailed Sherrin Australian rules football sits alone on freshly cut green turf inside a modern stadium, its red leather surface scuffed and worn from use, stitching sharply defined and AFL branding clearly visible. Surrounding it are scattered, folded broadsheet newspapers and glossy magazines, their sports sections prominently headlined but slightly out of focus. Cool late-afternoon stadium light filters in from high above, creating long, soft shadows and subtle highlights across the ball’s curved surface. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a shallow depth of field so the football is in crisp focus while the media clutter recedes into a gentle bokeh, conveying a professional, contemplative atmosphere about the scrutiny of the game’s coverage.

Scrutinising AFL Media

We critique traditional coverage, conduct independent policy analysis, and invite readers to question narratives while staying anchored in Australian Football history and fairness.
